About us
NutriZen was created out of passion to cosmetics. In the world full of products created for masses we want to bring back the luxury of custom made skin care.
We source our inspiration from the way cosmetics used to be made in the beginning of 20th century. Back then the imperative was to respond to the individual customer’s needs.
Creating small batches of products gives us the ability to adjust them to the particular case, and work out the best formula.
Our clients are people who couldn’t find a solution for their skin’s problem in the selection of industrialised popular brands.
Our “boutique” type of manufacturing allows us to chose the ingredients according to their efficacy, and benefits they provide rather than financial rationale.
Our main goal is not to have a bigger margin, but to have a better product.
Ingredients
We pledge to provide you with products that are as skin compatible as possible being also sustainable.
We are however going to use synthetic replacement if they are more beneficial to your skin than natural replacement.
Being experts in what we’re doing we know that natural is not always better for you!
Great example are the essential oils, which are far more sensitising than their synthetic cousins. To some of our product we use large molecule silicones which gives you incomparable to any natural ingredient skin-feel even in concentration as low as 1%, it is scientifically proven they can not penetrate the skin due to their big size. They support antimicrobial ingredients, and are great carrier of active ingredients.
In some products you will see cross-linked polymers which we use as a gelling agent, emulsion stabiliser, and film-forming ingredient.
Study shows they can dramatically increase moisturising ability of gel-creams even comparing to natural gels, and gums.
We have to understand that not everything natural is good – take asbestos for instance. Widely found in nature and it is a carcinogen and deadly substance, once used in excess.
Manufacturing process
Our products are mostly preparations, made for a specific demand. We do however have some products that happened to suit most of our clients, and those are the one you can find in our shop.
We are proud to say our products are in most of cases homemade. Yes! Soaps, creams, lotions, and gels comes from a small manufacturing process where in one batch there is maximum of 20 items per batch. We decided to limit our production to 2 litres per batch to have a full traceability.
Despite the fact that for some preparations we create a “base”which is then enriched with demanded actives we have a full control over the process, and we are using good manufacturing practice to every jar that is landing in our client’s bathroom.
